Description
The healthcare sector offers several degrees to choose from apart from MBBS and BDS. BSc Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing is one of those professional courses that interested candidates can choose from. A 4-year undergraduate B Sc Nursing program prepares students to serve humanity with the help of medical treatment.
It doesn’t remain restricted to one job role but by pursuing a BSc in Nursing, students also learn how to care for patients and those who are in need. Some of the mandatory subjects that a candidate must have in their 10+2 board examination for studying B Sc in Nursing are Physics, Chemistry and Biology (as compulsory subjects). The course can also be studied by General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M) degree holders.
In fact, there is a lot of potential for nursing students in India and abroad owing to the evergreen nature of the profession. Admission to a BSc Nursing Course is provided through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). However, some states also conduct their own nursing entrance exam or have their own admission process by filling out online application forms.
According to the Indian Nursing Council, the BSc Nursing course is based on CBCS (Choice-Based Credit System). While individual BSc Nursing colleges and institutions have the freedom of designing the program, every educational institute needs to abide by the rules and regulations specified by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). The guidelines also dictate that the students pursue courses that are foundational, core as well as elective.
